WordPress added Quantcast to it’s wordpress.com statistics script. It’s not configurable, and you can choose to either have wordpress jetpack activated (which activates the tracking) or deactivated. Jetpack also offers some other nice features, like automatically publishing new posts to twitter and the like.
I can either replace all jetpack functions by other plugins or live with the tracking. Somehow feels like being a visitor in my own house. I decided for a reason to have WordPress running on my own server, without advertisements and the like, and now WordPress is sending my visitors to be counted by some startup that also does cross-site tracking.
Thanks but no thanks. I am thinking of creating my own front end to the blog, just using the edit-feature by WordPress. I don’t like feeling like a visitor to my own house.
